The Major Degenerative Disease
. . . is treatable.
It is very treatable.
It is eating too much.
It is a lifestyle disease.
We live in a toxic environment of processed food, fast food, huge portions, trans fats, sugar everywhere, emotional immaturity and corporate greed. Plus a health care system that profits off of our sickness.
Many people, including me, who are dealing with weight issues have sugar sensitivity.
Sugar Sensitivity is defined as a bio-chemistry of carbohydrate sensitivity affecting and affected by lower genetic levels of the brain chemicals serotonin, beta endorphin and dopamine. The various patterns associated with sugar sensitivity are attraction to and the consumption of a lot of sweets; a fondness for bread, cereal, popcorn and/or pasta; having or once having had a problem with alcohol or drugs; having one or both parents be alcoholic or sugar sensitive; being overweight and having a problem losing the extra pounds; depression; overreacting to stress and a surprising history of anger.
Sugar Sensitivity is a theory, the working hypothesis of Kathleen DesMaisons, Ph.D.
It is based on her observations in the recovery field, in-depth investigation into the growing solid scientific research and the input of thousands of people on the online community Radiant Recovery.
I recommend her book Potatoes Not Prozac.
Go for a walk.
Eat whole foods.
Get some rest.

The Total Lunar Eclipse of The Full Moon
Good day today - ate well, laughed, exercised (the treadmill at Rallysport while I watched Jon Stewart on Larry King and Kobe scoring 41 to help the Lakers beat the Suns in Shaq's debut), gave massage and connected more with others.
I want:
1) Presence
2) Fun
3) Passion
4) Creativity, Inquiry, Beauty
5) Service, Leadership, Inspiration
6) Health, Radiance, Youthfulness, Energy
7) Prosperity, Abundance, Flow
When I die in the year 2052 in my sleep at the age of 92 . . .
I will still be hiking, doing yoga, enjoying films, cooking, gardening, writing and having sex.

Mercury Goes Direct Today
I am feeling very grateful again today for my health, the love in my life, the opportunities I have.
Check out this Global Rich List
Life is simple. I have been making it hard.
One of my favorite supportive newsletters is from Denver psychic, astrologer and coach Kelly Rosano:
"The reason you want every single thing that you want, is because you think you will feel really good when you get there. But, if you don't feel really good on your way to there, you can't get there. You have to be satisfied with what-is while you're reaching for more." –Abraham-Hicks
We are having a total Lunar Eclipse on February 20, 2008 in Virgo—Pisces. This Eclipse will be visible to observe weather permitting. Pisces is the last sign of the Zodiac and it stands for transformation from the egocentric self to unity consciousness. We are all one, connected to each other and the one Source. Virgo stands for discernment, humility and service to life. We are being called to connect with our Higher Self and tune into our inner voice. Trust your gut instinct or intuition to reveal what it is you wish energize and create next.
Serious Saturn is a major player at this Eclipse asking each one of us to evaluate or current goals and come up with a clear cut strategy for success. He will highlight our fears and our negative beliefs holding us back. Saturn can use illness and depression to awaken us from our illusions. The purpose is to purge and urge us to move forward and not lapse back into old patterns that no longer serve our personal path in reaching our fullest potential and power. What is your primary goal now? Do you know how to navigate the waters of uncertainty?
Powerful Pluto and ambitious Mars are in harmonious aspect to this Eclipse providing the way out from the intensity of what may come to light now. What is cooking in your life? Do you feel a sense of uneasiness of how to proceed, or a residue of unfinished business? This Eclipse may be your moment of truth. Wherever it lands in your natal chart are the areas of your life being most activated and awakened to change. Pluto and Mars will provide you with enough resourcefulness to empower you to push through where you need to go.
Even better news is that Mercury turns direct today. The Sun enters Pisces tomorrow. Mars is gaining speed after his long retrograde cycle that has stalled projects and most forward movement since the middle of November. There are many more steps ahead, but this Eclipse marks the fork in the road; it’s vital to recognize it as such, and allow yourself to be shown where you know you need to go. Timing is everything. Now is the time for action and whatever you have been waiting for since fall can now move forward. Don’t hold back if you feel inspired to do something, there are green lights ahead. “Glorious gifts can be received when you keep your heart open to all possibilities.”---Ivo/Lisa Dorr

Object Constancy
O.C. is a developmental stage in young children linked to trust.
At a young age if something is not in their sight then it is gone.
When you play "peek-a-boo" with young kids, you really do disappear.
When Mom goes around the corner and you can't see her anymore but you know she's still there then you are beginning to develop Object Constancy.
My goal for this week is to put my computer documents and photos into their proper files and trust that they are there even if I can't see them on my desktop.
Winter Blues, Depression, Relapse, S.A.D., Clutter, Overeating, Isolating.
And, because of Leap Year, it has 29 days this year.
What I can do today:
Eat breakfast with protein and complex carbs.
Go for a walk.
Throw stuff away.

Being Retrograde
The word retrograde applies, in astrology, to the apparent backward motion thru the zodiac of a planet. An old encyclopedia of astrology describes this retrograde motion as "the effect of a slow-moving train as viewed from another train traveling parallel to it but at a more rapid rate, wherein the slower train appears to be moving backwards. However, in the case of the celestial bodies it is not a matter of their actual speed of travel, but of the rate at which they change their angular relationship."*
All the planets, except Sun and Moon, have these retrograde periods, but Mercury is most famous for them, probably because Mercury represents our very essential communication abilities.
While people speak of Mercury Retrograde periods that screw up computers and television sets, today's astrologers believe the mishaps happen in more personal realms (Uranus is the planet that rules television and computers). Mercury rules communication, but more informal communications, like writing, speaking, short shopping sprees and other erranding endeavors. So, while Mercury is Retrograde, don't give that party, be extra aware of what you say and what you interpret when chatting with or writing to friends, cut back on errands, expect that the check will be in the mail longer than usual. Since the car is usually used for shopping and errands, don't be surprised if the battery wire loosens or the fan belt snaps just when you have rush out for that one ingredient you forgot to buy.
The good things to do when Mercury is Retrograde: meditate, contemplate, edit the book/poem/song/essay you've been writing, clean house, talk to your pet, listen to music, paint, catch up on sleep!

Oversimplifying, Pigeonholing, Sterotyping
Sure beats getting to know someone.
The 2008 political process can be fascinating at times but in general I find following it to be superficial, distracting and addictive.
I forget who said : "I think voting is the opium of the masses in this country. Every four years you deaden the pain."
But I agree with him.
I have put effort in getting out the Constitutional message of Dr. Ron Paul.
Click here to go to YouTube
to learn more.
Type "Ron Paul New Hope" into the YouTube search bar and watch him speak his message.
His message has so touched me that I changed political party affiliations and I caucused for him as a Republican last Tuesday.

Super Sunday
So, that's not why it's super.
Only one Presidential Primary today in Maine.
That's not it.
Watch these four short films to get up to speed on the candidates.
Barack Video
Ron Paul Video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IWfIhFhelm8
John McCain Video
Hillary Video
It's just super because.
. . . Because I'm alive.
Because the people I love are healthy.
Because I have a chance to smile and to help someone else.
The rest is drunken dumbshow.

Very prosperous.
Very resourceful.
I'm a rat.
Rats always get what they want.

Nature Is On My List
My favorite activities of being alive in a body on this Earth:
(not necessarily in this order)
1. The Experience of Being Present. Essence.
True Nature - Authenticity – Awakened Presence
- in any way it expresses itself -
(truth-grace-simplicity-beauty-meditation-yoga-being-
acceptance-spontaneity-music-forgiveness-dance-
tenderness-connection-laughter- etc.)
2. Parenting
3. Nature . . . being in it, being surrounded by it.
4. Relationship. Connection. Intimacy.
Divine love shared in making love.
5. Giving/teaching/serving/guiding
6. Traveling
(I also regularly enjoy the experiences of inquiring,
I'm thinking of nature because I just back from a three day cross country ski trip to Vance's Hut near Leadville, Colorado.
